What are the procedural requirements for a valid marriage? Hi, I’m Muskogee Attorney Eric L. Strocen and I have that answer.
Now, in order to get a marriage, the first step is for you to get a valid license. In order to be issued a valid license, both parties must get a blood test from a physician and be able to turn that in.
Next, you need solemnization pretty much, you just need a ceremony of some kind that proves that the marriage took place. And this acts as a way to prove that this was an actual valid marriage, kind of a way to have backup evidence if there’s some kind of issue later.
Next, you need recordation, endorsement by signatures of two witnesses and the person performing the ceremony and these things must be compiled together and returned to the court after the signatures are on them.
